Discover the most beautiful places in the Pajottenland!

The castle is open! It will be a festive year as the castle celebrates 100 years as a museum. We celebrate this with the return of the castle collection in a brand new scenography. We are also inviting several contemporary artists to be inspired by the castle, its collection and its many stories to offer an enriching view of ourselves and the world around.

In the gardens you will find a standard orchard with some 200 fruit trees, a pond, an ecological vegetable garden, small fruit labyrinth, a restored baking oven and an apiary.

This rural mill is already mentioned in a 1391 cijns book under the name Hertboom Mill. The name was only “supplanted” by “Tragic Mill” in the 20th century, following two murders that took place at the mill. In the 1960s, the mill gained national fame because it served as the home for the youth serial “Captain Zeppos”. The Hertboom Mill Museum and a visitor reception area were opened in the Mill Court barn.
