OPLOMBIKE has 8 holiday homes. Due to its unique location, every guest will enjoy his stay. An ideal place to enjoy with family, friends or colleagues. For the business clientele, this is a perfect location for a seminar, combined with one or more overnight stays or a cycle/relaxation break.
The Abduction of Europa by Koenraad Tinel is a contemporary artwork inspired by the Greek myth of Europa. In the story, the Phoenician princess Europa is abducted by Zeus, who has disguised himself as a bull. Tinel interprets this classic myth in a quirky and expressive way. His sculptures and drawings, often raw and emotionally charged, give the mythological figures a modern and timeless appearance. The theme of abduction, power, and seduction remains relevant and is translated by Tinel into a universal story about human instincts and power dynamics.

De Popelier is a meat and wine restaurant in rural Gooik. In the shadow of the castle of Saffelberg, lovers of aged or unaged meat are in for a treat. As are wine lovers for whom more than 350 references await.
In 2017, over 2,100 vines were planted by passionate local people with decades of winemaking experience. The starting point: nature-friendly work out of love for their region, the Pajottenland.
De Popelier is a Meat&Wine Restaurant in Gooik, the pearl of the Pajottenland region. In the shadow of the Saffelberg castle and in an idyllic location, you can enjoy a large selection of both aged and non-aged meat. For this selection, there is a very close collaboration with Hendrik Dierendonck. In summer it is blissful to relax on the heated terrace amidst the Pajotse hills, but also in winter it is very cosy inside thanks to the warm interior makeover with some eye-catchers such as the "WineWall". The wine list of more than 350 references has been carefully compiled so that every wine lover can make a nice choice or get advice.

The vineyard takes root in a sandy loam soil that lends itself perfectly to the production of white wine. This was already true during the Ancien Régime, even before Napoleon made all viticulture in Flanders impossible.
The planting was done by passionate local people with decades of experience in vineyard management. Their guiding principle: working in harmony with nature out of love for their region, the Pajottenland.
Three grape varieties ripen in our young vineyard: Souvignier Gris, Johanniter and Monarch. These were deliberately chosen because they already have some resistance to the most common fungal diseases known to our climate. The result? Three ‘cool climate’ wines that are vinified in inox barrels where they mature for at least 7 months.
You can taste our wines at Restaurant De Popelier, Populierenstraat 8, right next to our vineyard, or purchase at the Flavor Shop, Edingsesteenweg 3, both in Gooik.
