In a beautiful location at the foot of the Kesterheide in Gooik and along the old streetcar bed, lies the new Paddenbroek Rural Center. The building itself is a beautiful piece of architecture where old and new are combined into a valuable and unique project. In the gardens you will find a standard orchard with some 200 fruit trees, a pond, an ecological vegetable garden, small fruit labyrinth, a restored baking oven and an apiary.
Popelier is a Meat&Wine Restaurant in Gooik, the pearl of the Pajottenland. In the shadow of the castle of Saffelberg and in an idyllic location, you can enjoy a large selection of both aged and non-aged meat. For this selection there is a very close collaboration with Hendrik Dierendonck. In summer you can relax on the heated terrace in the middle of the Pajotse hills, but also in winter it is very cozy inside thanks to the warm make-over of the interior with some eye-catchers such as the “WineWall”.
